Why is winning so important?

In it to win it.
Winning.
Winning isn't everything it is the only thing.

There are a lot of ways to say it and it seems to be quite important in life. Psychologists say that winning is innate. I got the idea that winning is so desirable and so sweet because it is so HARD to do. Think about it.
Have you ever seen a team blow a lead in the ninth inning of a pivotal game. There are so many obstacles to securing the win that it becomes HARD to do.
Besides, if winning were easy we would all do it...

Speaking of winning, I saw a patient today that is going to community college. She had gone through adolescence without ever really exercising or participating in athletic pursuit. She was forced by her Aunt one day to go to the gym with her. Something clicked, she cannot explain it but she is hooked on exercise science, fitness and nutrition. Her goal is become a personal trainer and eventually a performance enhancement specialist at Nike. You know what I told her? Then do it! I think she will. She is winning.

Take a minute and find those around you who are winning and pat them on the back and celebrate their victories, it is so important to win. It is hard to do, but oh-so worth it.
